SGT JOSHUA BARTLETT

EOW 7/15/2021

TOUGH AND HUMBLE LEADER

Josh Bartlett was a friend who generously gave of his time and effort. He was one of Battle Board’s first customers, using our gear in his job as a law enforcement officer. He immediately knew Battle Board could help his team, and bought some for his other leaders. We had discussions on his feedback and what design changes might make his job easier. I always enjoyed seeing his name light up my phone and would text photos or get his thoughts on any new product we had in the works.

Josh was easy going, kind, helpful, and always professional. He was respected as a great leader, especially his fellow SWAT team members. As a U.S. Army soldier, he deployed twice to Iraq with the 10th Mountain and translated that knowledge to his time with the Lubbock Sheriff's office. More than anything, he was a loving husband and father of three sons.

Josh is the featured leader in our law enforcement videos, and he donated his time and resources to help us with the filming. His team’s professionalism reflected his own and the videos show how they run complex operations, the same dangerous operations that specialized law enforcement units carry out around the country. Although Josh is no longer with us, his DNA and legacy live on in the designs and functionality of our boards.

We had intended to launch our new line of duffel bags on the 16th of July under a different name and our normal sarcastic tone, but after losing a friend, it didn't feel right. Law enforcement remains one of our core user groups and he represented the professionalism and excellence of our peacekeepers. We decided, in conjunction with his SWAT team members and the consent of his family, that it would be appropriate to honor him by naming our new duffel bag after him.

Please continue to pray for Sergeant Bartlett’s family, friends, and his Sheriff's deputy colleagues as they remain on duty protecting the citizens of Texas.
